Happy TGIF folks! Are you all ready for the weekend. I know I am SO ready for the weekend. It’s suppose to be in the high 70’s (my favorite weather) and no rain (hopefully) so we have some fun things planned…

1. Trader Joe’s & Costco with my favorite little munchkin

2. Zoo on Sunday, maybe?!?!

3. I am planning an afternoon workout today, Turbo HIIT on Saturday and outside run on Sunday

4. BIG TIME cleaning of the house this weekend (preparation for the 4th party)

5. Downtown Naperville with Keely today as I need a visit to the Apple Store (lock/on/off button isn’t working on the old iphone)

Thankful Thursday

Happy “almost” TGIF…hope you all are having a good week and ready for the weekend. I can’t believe a week from today is the 4th of July, where has this summer gone? Usually after the 4th is when the whole “back to school” thing begins. I use to dread that time when I was younger…ha-ha. Anyways, I wanted to share some things I have been THANKFUL for lately.


Keely – no surprise here as she’s always my number ONE!! I am not one to complain about my child as you know what you’re getting into when you have kids and I would HATE for her to see that when she gets older. Let’s just say, I know now what it’s like to have a toddler in the house. Every day is a something new with her. I just love, love how she is so determined to do things herself as I want her to grow up an independent person. She is also a litter daredevil so I must always keep an eye on her. She’s just my little munchkin and I have no clue what my life would be like without her now.

Family & Friends – Again, my family and friends are so important to me and without them, I wouldn’t be who I am today.


Health – I have to say that “knock on wood” I’ve been pretty healthy and hope to continue as well.


Forever21 – I know, lame but I have found such cute things lately and wishing that lots of money would fall into my lap…ha-ha.


Chicago Blackhawks – I am a big baseball & hockey fan. So happy that the Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup since the White Sox aren’t doing good at all. It’s pretty cool to see two Stanley Cup wins in my lifetime (let’s not forget a World Series & Super Bowl).


Kid Pool – With temperatures rising in Chicago, I am loving the fact that my parents got Keely a little pool. Since she’d rather throw balls in it then sit in, I’ll sit in it and hope to get some sun on this pale skin. Well I guess I don’t really tan but I do get more freckles…ha-ha.


Freckles – Since we’re on the topic, I am thankful for my freckles. Freckles are so unique now and the older I get, the more I love them.


Work – Gotta be thankful for work as it helps pay the bills and put food on the table.


Lastly, YOU! – Again, thank you so much for reading my blog. I am learning everyday and hope to be like some of the bloggers out there that I read on a daily basis. xoxo

What I Ate Wednesday

Happy Wednesday to you all and here’s to another addition of WIAW.  I’ve been telling myself to eat a lot healthier but my cravings have gotten the best of me. I don’t know what it is about the summer but I am ALWAYS hungry and for the bad stuff. I think I need to just keep everything out of the house so that I won’t be tempted. I did not buy any chocolate almond butter this week and keep it to regular almond butter since Keely likes it and I will put a little in my green smoothies. Now onto that yummy Whole Foods trail mix, no more. Just almonds & raisins for this girl. I did make some healthy banana bread muffins but they have a pretty good nutritional value so we should be good in that department. I will see how the week goes limiting my sugar intake but I think it will be just fine. Enjoy my eats from Sunday!

Spicy Black Bean burger w/fries and another HUGE glass of water (doing good with my water intake)

I have been trying to drink a lot more water plus at night, I have my Yogi Detox tea. I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

Facts from the Weekend

I must start off by saying…CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS WIN THE STANLEY CUP….Yea Hawks!!


Hey Everyone!! How is everyone doing on this fine Tuesday? Things over here are pretty good. We had a pretty good weekend and here are some facts and pictures from it…

1. Friday night I went for Sushi & drinks with my cousin Mary Beth & friend Erica. It was lots of fun & food was once again, DELISH!!

2. Keely and I had a photo session on Friday…she’s a HOOT!!

3. We went to Target this week instead of TJs or Whole Foods because I needed certain things.

4.  No zoo last weekend but hopefully this weekend.

5. I got sunburned on my shoulders and only my shoulders…weird!

6. I had two good workouts last weekend and used Saturday as my off day.

7. Keely and I enjoyed a green smoothie all weekend…we are obsessed!!

8. I made these on Sunday and they are so GOOD!!

9. I used my Coldstone giftcard and forgot that their medium is HUGE. I finished not even half of it plus I had some help from Keely. I’m not really an ice cream person so now I know to go with their small.

Motivational Monday

Motivational Monday

Hello last week in June…Did everyone have a good weekend? Is it just me or do you need a little help getting motivated on Monday? I have been home on Mondays since January but I still act like I would be going into the office. I am up by 5am for a workout, showered and dressed for the day by 6:30am. Once I am sitting down at the computer, that’s when I need to start getting motivated. Actually it’s usually when I walk downstairs and see that I really need to be dusting or cleaning toilets when I need a little motivation…ha-ha.

I like to try and get things prepped or cleaned on Sunday so that when Monday morning approaches, I don’t have much to do. Now that I am working out at the gym on Monday afternoons (weights) that’s when I really need the motivation. Since it’s summer, I have a feeling it’s going to get harder and harder for me to get my booty to the gym on Monday afternoons. I have already found that I am somewhat lacking in my workout even though it’s summer and shorts are what’s being worn all summer..strange!!

I sometimes find a great way for me to get motivated is the either listen to certain songs or play something during or at the end of the week. It’s always great to look forward to something and that will really get you ready for the week. Music and quotes really get me motivated and make me think a lot which I guess is a good thing. Now it’s one thing to get motivated but it’s another thing to stay motivated and I find myself losing motivation as the day goes on…ha-ha!

The way I stay motivated during the day is to have daily goals/tasks that I want to accomplish by the end of the day. I want to show Keely that you can’t be lazy and to go places in the world, you gotta work your little butt off. I also just like keeping busy and doing good work. I’ve worked hard to be where I am today and want to continue that dedication so I will keep myself motivated as much as I can to get the work done. Hello!! Hope you are having a great Thursday so far. I can’t believe tomorrow is Friday, another fast week. Will they EVER slow down? Any who, I wanted to do a post about fashion again and the amazing Cents of Style.
